Play Golf In Your Basement
There are all kinds of awesome basement bar ideas, but have you ever thought about turning your basement into a golf bar? There is a crazy fun golf bar in Georgia that friends and I LOVE…and it got me thinking about having a golf bar like this in my own basement. These golf simulators are fantastic – as close to playing “real golf” outside as you can get inside. You take full swings, use all your clubs with all your clubs, wear your glove and golf shoes….everything just like a real round of golf. Oh, and you get to play on the best courses in the world – which is NOT “just like a real round of golf” for most of us hackers out there.
When I thought about adding a bar and one of these golf simulators to my basement, I got really excited. Sure, it’s an expensive concept, that’s for sure, but the over-all entertainment value to me is priceless. So, what would it take to make this basement bar idea come to reality for me?
First, and most important, your basement needs to have a high enough ceiling for the golf simulator. Remember, we take full swings with all our clubs when playing simulated golf – just think of the ceiling clearance you will need there. Also, the projector screen on the simulator is pretty tall for most models. Be sure to carefully check the specs for the golf simulator you want to use BEFORE moving forward with your basement remodel.
Once you’re in the clear for your golf simulator specs and know where that area will be in your basement, the rest of your planning is the same as for any other basement bar remodeling plan.
C’mon… how cool would it be to have a golf bar in your basement? Awesome.
